1. Introduction & Acceptance
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Atlas, an open-source technical reasoning workspace and scientific intelligence platform developed and published by Vylex Technologies ("Vylex", "we", "our"). Vylex builds AI powered apps and engineering utilities designed for high-performance developer workflows.
By accessing or using Atlas, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using Atlas on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Open-Source Software & MIT License
Atlas is licensed under the permissive MIT License:

Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files, to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, subject to standard license attribution.
3. AI Derivations & Verification Disclaimer
Atlas provides access to generative AI reasoning models, KaTeX mathematical derivations, computer vision OCR, and deterministic execution tools. While Atlas is augmented with rigorous scientific reasoning pipelines, generative models can occasionally produce inaccurate, incomplete, or hallucinated outputs.
- Verification Requirement: You are solely responsible for reviewing, testing, and verifying all mathematical formulas, architectural specifications, and code artifacts before deploying them in production or safety-critical systems.
- No Professional Guarantee: Outputs from Atlas do not constitute professional engineering, legal, financial, or medical certification.
4. API Keys & Provider Costs
Atlas connects to third-party model providers, primarily OpenRouter. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your personal API credentials.
- Any model consumption costs, token fees, or rate limits incurred against your individual API key.
- Adhering to the terms of service of any third-party model providers selected within the Atlas interface.
5. Intellectual Property & Content Ownership
You retain full ownership of all prompts, datasets, uploaded files, and generated code artifacts created within your session. Vylex Technologies asserts no ownership claims over your intellectual property or computational research results.
6. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any legal dispute or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in the competent courts of South Africa.
